Painting statement
Andrea’s paintings are portals into a world where the boundaries of matter and energy blur, and the unseen becomes vibrantly visible. Deeply influenced by her exploration of quantum healing and the intrinsic connection between intention and reality, Andrea’s creative process is an intimate conversation with the energetic fields that form the foundation of all existence. Through her art, she invites viewers to question, to feel, and to recognize the subtle energies that constantly shape our reality.
Through Quantum healing she understands that all life is energy, and that the mind, through intention, can interact with and influence this energy. She approaches the canvas with an awareness that each brushstroke is an imprint on the fabric of the energetic field.
Her belief in the limitless power of intention is central to her practice. Her art becomes a meditation—each painting a ritual of focus and presence, through which she connects with the subtle energies that surround and permeate us all.
Andrea was born in Kansas City and for the last 20 years has lived in Maine. She holds a BFA, BA, And MA from the University of Kansas.
Sculpture statement
Throughout her life, Andrea’s artistic path has been rooted in the desire to depict the energetic states and dynamism of Nature. While this mission has been a central guide in her artistic journey, the path to find the right medium was certainly less linear. Initially, her BFA in Textile Design drew her to weaving, printing and dying, and vessel form creation from objects found in nature. She continued her search through the exploration of wood and clay and found they didn't align with her need to manipulate the materials quickly. Andrea discovered that steel rods, while durable, could be welded to reveal a graceful fluidity of its form and ultimately yield the energetic forms she envisioned. Through the use of steel rods, she creates forms that become a part of the energetic flow of the space. In the past year Andrea has been drawn to painting. Through paint she has found grace in line, texture, and color. Through the painting medium she has found new ways to express her interest in the energetic field.
